Hi Nadine,
When I had my ovaries and uterus removed last year I was 44 y.o., two older children and had already had my tubes tied 10 years prior. I had a history of extreme bleeding that an ablation had not cured and a family history of ovarian cancer on my mother's side. All of this combined is what finally convinced my doctor it was time for a change. I too had been denied by doctors when I was younger. All I can say is hang in there and keep asking to you find one that will help you. Good luck!

Hi, I am curious as to how you found a doctor willing to do an oopherectomy. I am trying and getting rejected by 2 docs so far. I am 38 y.o. not married and no children. I realized I had PMDD when all my symptoms are cyclical and this has truly inhibited my life since 13 y.o.
any ideas on how to find a dr. to do the surgery?

Hi Stef,

Great Post! I tried Yaz but it made me very moody and hard to live with as I was always snapping at my husband and kids. So at the moment I am not taking anything but the doctor has suggested I take Zoloft so I will see what happens and hopefully will be ok!

I went to see my doc last Friday and she immediately yanked me of the Yaz. My blood pressure was high--I have never had high BP except for during a pregnancy. She put me on Inderal LA which is a BP med and a migraine inhibitor. She told me she uses it for migraines too. She also put me on Zoloft to try. I am 3 days into the new meds so it is too soon to note any changes but I am optimistic!

I had PMS symptoms before my doctor put me on YAZ. Within 6 months I had full blown and severe PMDD symmptoms; migraine headaches, lethargy, extreme mood swings, strange food cravings or no appetite at all, excrutiating body, joint and muscle pain plus thoughts of suicide! After 2 years of suffering, exhausting every other option, I had my ovaries removed. I have been symptom free now for 4 wonderful months. Wish I would have done it sooner but luckily I did it before I lost my family or my life. Good luck to you all in whatever form of treatment you choose. My prayers are with you!
